HUMAN WEAKNESS: ETHICAL ASPECTS
Abstract
The word "weakness" is invariably understood as a significant vulnerability, a flaw, a reprehensible defect. And it is even strange that this concept has not yet received a special status in the reference-philosophical literature. But its relevance to ethics and to culture in general is clearly evidenced by the existence of such characteristics as willlessness, carelessness, unprincipledness, cowardice, shortsightedness, non-commitment, indecisiveness, non-self-sufficiency, unassertiveness, flattery, and venality. The author believes that it is quite realistic to create an ENCYCLOPEDIA OF HUMAN WEAKNESSES, with a detailed and systematised description of how people manifest their limitations in different areas of cognition and practice, where this limitation threatening human well-being comes from, what it can lead to, how it can be anticipated, diagnosed, and to what extent it can be counteracted. All of this could be studied by the special WEAKNESS STUDIES or ADINAMIOLOGY (ΑΔΥΝΑΜΙΟΛΟΓÍΑ, from αδυναμíα = weakness + λογíα = teaching <Greek>). It is very important that humanitarians put their efforts here for the common good of humanity. In the proposed text, however, more modest problems are solved. It considers a generalised situation in which human weakness is present: SUBJECT - ОBJECT - PROPERTY - CONTEXT - EXPERIENCING - COMPREHENSION - BEHAVIOURAL REACTION of the subject to his own weakness - RESULT - ATTITUDE of others. The results of the review give hope for a culture-creating perspective.

An author should not normally publish manuscripts describing essentially the same research in multiple journals or publication venues. Such redundant publication is generally considered to constitute unethical publishing behavior, and if discovered may result in a manuscript under consideration being rejected, or a published article being retracted.
Authors of manuscripts reporting on original research should present an accurate account of the work performed, accompanied by an objective discussion of its significance. Underlying data should be represented accurately in the manuscript. The manuscript should contain sufficient detail and references to permit others to replicate the work. The fabrication of results and the making of fraudulent or knowingly inaccurate statements constitute unethical behavior and may be cause for rejection or retraction of a manuscript or published article.
