HYPODYNAMICSTRESSAND THE USEOFMOBILECOMMUNICATIONSASRISKFACTORS FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF CURVATURE OF THE CERVICALSPINEINSCHOOLCHILDREN
Abstract
Oneof the consequences of prolongedsmartphoneuse by childrenandadolescentsexperiencinghypodynamicstressmaybe a curvaturein the cervicalspine.
The purpose of the study - to identify the relationship between the time of use of mobilephonesduring the day by childrenandadolescentsexperiencinghypodynamicstresswith a violation of theirposturein the form of lateralcurvature of the cervicalspine.
Materials and methods. The object of the studyischildrenandadolescentsaged12to15years(121people),secondaryschool students inGrodno.Theirbodytype was assessed, they were testedtoclassifythem as right-handedand left-handed, and the angle of inclination of the cervicalspine was measured in schoolchildren.Usingthequestionnairemethod, asurvey was conducted among the parentaudience of students of theseschoolsabout the length of timetheirchildrenusemobilephonesduring the dayandextracurricularsportsactivities.Basedon the pedometerindicators, motoractivityperday was estimated.
Results.65% of students in grades6-8usemobilephones for more than 3hoursaday,and15%ofthem use more than 7hoursaday.90.9%ofthesurveyedschoolchildrenare right
handed,amongthem96.35%use a mobilephonemainly with their righthand.Schoolchildrenaged12-15yearslivinginGrodno, who usemobilephones for more than 3hoursaday,have a violation of posturein the form of a lateralcurvaturein the cervicalspine. The lateralcurvaturein the cervical region is fixedwith an inclination to the right. The dailymotoractivity of children of dolichomorphic body type, limited to sportsactivitiesonlyin the form of twophysicaleducationlessonsperweek,averagedonly6,689steps.Andstudentsattending the sections have an averagenumber of stepsperday-11335. The curvature of the cervicalspineislinearlydependenton the time of using a mobilephone, the timeduringwhich the studentisin a sittingpositionandhismotoractivity(correlationcoefficientr=-0.951708183). A linearcorrelation between the angle of inclinationin the cervicalspine and themotoractivity of schoolchildren was revealed (correlationcoefficientr=0.920631651).
Conclusions.
- Schoolchildrenaged12-15yearslivinginGrodno, who usemobilephones for more than 3hoursaday,have a violation of posturein the form of a lateralcurvaturein the cervicalspine.
- The lateralcurvaturein the cervicalspineislinearlydependenton the time of use of a mobilephone.
- A linearcorrelation between the angle of inclinationin the cervicalspine and themotoractivity of schoolchildren has been revealed.Theangle of inclinationin the cervicalspine is higher in schoolchildren of dolichomorphic body type, withlowermotoractivity.
- Hypodynamicstressand the useofmobilecommunicationsareriskfactors for the development of curvature of the cervicalspine in schoolchildren.

An author should not normally publish manuscripts describing essentially the same research in multiple journals or publication venues. Such redundant publication is generally considered to constitute unethical publishing behavior, and if discovered may result in a manuscript under consideration being rejected, or a published article being retracted.
Authors of manuscripts reporting on original research should present an accurate account of the work performed, accompanied by an objective discussion of its significance. Underlying data should be represented accurately in the manuscript. The manuscript should contain sufficient detail and references to permit others to replicate the work. The fabrication of results and the making of fraudulent or knowingly inaccurate statements constitute unethical behavior and may be cause for rejection or retraction of a manuscript or published article.
