INTEGRATION OF A SPORTS PSYCHOLOGIST INTO THE SYSTEM OF SPORTS TRAINING: JUSTIFICATION OF THE NECESSITY AND DIFFERENCES FROM OTHER AREAS OF PSYCHOLOGY
Abstract
This article discusses the problem of integrating a sports psychologist into the sports training system, justifying its relevance and necessity in modern high-performance sports. It analyzes the key differences between the professional activities of a sports psychologist and related specializations, such as a teacher-psychologist and a medical (clinical) psychologist, based on several criteria: scope of activities, target audience, objectives, working methods, professional competencies, and expected outcomes. Special attention is given to the specific features of the work of a sports psychologist. The article provides a detailed description of the practical aspects of introducing a psychologist into a team, and the integration of a psychologist is presented as a systemic investment in the sustainability of a sports organization, allowing for the optimization of athletes' mental resources and turning the psychological factor into a decisive advantage in competitions.
