THE INFLUENCE OF BOCCIA ON SELF-ESTEEM AND COORDINATION-MANIPULATIVE MOVEMENTS IN STUDENTS WITH CEREBRAL PALSY
Abstract
. It was found that students with lesions of the musculoskeletal system (ICP) before entering the university, practically did not engage in AFC in schools and colleges. It has been proven that engaging in adaptive sports not only improves adaptation and psychophysical activity, but also contributes to the establishment of social contacts, intrapersonal self-esteem. Currently, one of the most popular games in Russia is boccia, which in those with cerebral palsy develops balanced motor skills, eye, balance, dexterity, endurance, teamwork, which ultimately improves the physical qualities of the player. Since 2016, TSU has been conducting boccia training sessions for students with cerebral palsy. The purpose of the study: to study the influence of boccia on self-esteem and indicators of coordinating and manipulative movements in students with cerebral palsy. The study involved 18 students with cerebral palsy (61.1% boys and 38.9% girls studying at TSU). The analysis of the obtained results found that regular boccia classes contribute to an increase in personal self-esteem (2.4 times), the young men showed a slight increase in satisfaction with their general condition and motor mobility. Reliable results of an increase in the average range of a ball throw by 5.2 meters and an accuracy of hitting a meter-long goal by 4.2 hits are noted. It has been confirmed that boccia classes of students with cerebral palsy have a positive effect on balanced and coordinated actions.
