Abstract

the article presents a study of the effect of visual gymnastics on the quality of life of students with symptoms of computer vision syndrome, which was the purpose of the work. A set of visual gymnastics exercises was compiled. The assessment of the general condition of students and the state of the visual apparatus was carried out on the basis of the questionnaire "KZS-22", which was simplified for ease of use. Two groups of students of the Kirov State Medical University of the 3rd year, 15 people each, were randomly selected. The first group was experimental (group No. 1), the second – control (group No. 2). In the experimental group, students did visual gymnastics every day for a month, while the control group did not do this. The study was conducted for one month (February). The students of the experimental group performed exercises for the muscular apparatus of the eye once a day after or during long-term work at the computer. The results of groups No. 1 and No. 2 before the study were different. There were fewer answers "constantly" and "1-2 times a day" to the proposed questions in the second group (control) than in the first. The rest of the answers in both groups were about the same. In the experimental group, after performing exercises for a month, complaints became significantly less frequent. There were no answers "constantly" to the proposed questions after the study. There were no constant complaints when working at the PC. The results of the second (control) group after the study differed little from the results before the study. After one month, complaints also became less frequent, which can be attributed to a decrease in computer usage and, as a result, a decrease in the load on the organ of vision after the end of the session and exams. Also, initially, the control group had fewer answers "constantly" and "1-2 times a day", so after the study, the students did not have

these answers. The results of the study show the positive effect of visual gymnastics on the well-being of students.
