MODERN CONDITIONS OF DEVELOPMENT OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION IN RUSSIAN UNIVERSITIES (ON THE EXAMPLE SAINT-PETERSBURG UNIVERSITY OF THE HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL SCIENCES)
Abstract
This article is devoted to tendencies of development of physical education in Russia. The problem of development of physical education of students in Russia is of great importance in the formation of human personality. The system of education in the field of physical culture and sports in Russia is directly related to the preservation and strengthening of public health. Student youth is the most important layer of the population, providing a promising development of the economy of our country. Strengthening and maintaining the health of students, development and improvement of their most important for long-term professional activity physical qualities comes to the fore in the strategy of development of physical culture and sports in the Russian Federation in 2020. The main purpose of the study is to identify significant problems of physical education in Russian universities and determine the basic conditions of its development at the present stage.This article discusses the main factors (internal and external) of improvement of modern physical culture in the Russian Federation. Statistical data on the current state of physical education among the youth of our country are given. Various positions of modern scientists on the state of physical education in Russia from literary sources are given. At the end of the literary review, the main problems in the sphere of modern system of physical culture in universities are determined to identify the further vector of development of physical education in Russia. Based on the received material from literary sources the main problems faced by the Russian modern physical education of students are deduced. The article touches upon the problematic issues related to the standardization of education, insufficient funding, insufficient scientific validity of educational programs, and competence of the teaching staff. To solve the second task of the study, a survey of the teaching staff of the Department of physical education of the St. Petersburg Humanitarian University of trade unions is conducted. According to the results of the survey, the conclusions of the recommendation are made. Based on the results of the survey, the main conditions that are designed to affect the further positive change in the Russian system of physical education of students are identified
