PLAYING BOARD SPORTS GAMES AS A MEANS OF PHYSICAL DEVELOPMENT OF SCHOOLCHILDREN WITH MENTAL DISABILITIES
Abstract
Physical activity of schoolchildren with mental disabilities is primarily aimed at improving their physical competencies and motor abilities, acquiring skills through a variety of game practices, and directly developing behavioral, cognitive, and social skills. Regular classes in adaptive physical education and sports for this category of students greatly contribute to motivational aspects, independence, self-control to overcome problems and the ability to work in a team. The purpose of the study was to explore options for physical activity, acquisition of gaming
skills, and motivation to engage in board sports games. The study involved 34 boys with mental disabilities studying at boarding school at the age of 14,3±1,6 years using a mixed method of data collection of information: quantitative (questionnaire) and qualitative (interview). The results of the study showed a preference among boys with mental disabilities for individual gaming activities in board sports games (58,8%). The most interesting games are: kulbutto (23,5%), jaccolo and matryoshka po (20,6%) and elastic wenge (17,7%). More than half of the boys participating in the experiment very often play accessible and interesting board games for 3 to 4 hours or more per week during school and in their free time. Mental schoolchildren indicated a high interest and willingness to participate in various sports tournaments (76.5%). Physical education teachers need to encourage and motivate students with special educational needs to participate in a variety of adaptive physical education and sports, thereby acquiring gaming skills and the ability to work in a team for results.

An author should not normally publish manuscripts describing essentially the same research in multiple journals or publication venues. Such redundant publication is generally considered to constitute unethical publishing behavior, and if discovered may result in a manuscript under consideration being rejected, or a published article being retracted.
Authors of manuscripts reporting on original research should present an accurate account of the work performed, accompanied by an objective discussion of its significance. Underlying data should be represented accurately in the manuscript. The manuscript should contain sufficient detail and references to permit others to replicate the work. The fabrication of results and the making of fraudulent or knowingly inaccurate statements constitute unethical behavior and may be cause for rejection or retraction of a manuscript or published article.
